Majorca is het grootste eiland van de Balearen (waar ook Menorca, Ibiza en Formentera deel van uit maken) met een 'doorsnee' van bijna 80 kilometer en zo'n 550 km. kustlijn. De bekendste en meest bezochte badplaatsen liggen in het zuiden. Het middelpunt van de reeks badplaatsen is het strand Playa de Mallorca, dat grenst aan de stad Palma de Mallorca. Palma Nova, en Santa Ponsa liggen ten westen van de hoofdstad, El Arenal, Playa de Palma en Ca'n Pastilla liggen ten oosten van de hoofdstad. In het noorden ligt Alcudia, ook een geliefde vakantiebestemming vooral voor ouders met jonge kinderen. Het eiland is bereikbaar via Luchthaven Palma de Mallorca of per veerboot vanuit Barcelona, Valencia of Denia.
Hoogtepunten van Majorca zijn Cap Formentor, Valldemosa en Sóller, Alcúdia en natuurlijk de druipsteengrotten, met als grootste de grotten van Ham en Drach, bij Porto Christo.
